Release notes

The current documented release baselines and the practical changes that affect setup.

KOS Pro 1.1.0

Approved stable artifact · private access. Edition and installer 1.1.0; Core 1.0.0, compatibility contract 1.

  • Guided Windows installation with separate plan review, License acceptance, adoption/transition decisions and final readiness.
  • Supported inspection for empty vaults, qualifying Pro 1.0.0 upgrades, same-version verify/repair, ordinary Obsidian and recognized compatible legacy sources.
  • Supported transitions from fresh Starter Kit 1.2.0, qualifying enhanced Obsidian sources, and completed Starter 1.1.0 installations upgraded to 1.2.0 with validated historical state.
  • Reversible archival and retirement of the historical Starter writer.
  • Five conditional Pro command counterparts preserve customized legacy interfaces; see the mapping.
  • Note-based domain navigation with supplied index notes; review existing links after installation.
  • Local public non-paid grant acceptance with document versions/hashes, under the supplied proprietary License and Plan Terms.
  • Installed tools for project scaffolding, paired context activation, role resolution, bounded search and validation.

PowerShell 7.2+ on Windows is required for the guided release. Direct Starter 1.0.0/1.1.0, incomplete history and unrecognized legacy installer authority are blocked. The supported-source matrix and recovery constraints are in Install Pro.

Use the approved October 19 kos-pro-1.1.0.zip and verify the exact hash. Pro remains private-access-only; Academy plan access is the intended delivery channel, with no public acquisition claim. Existing customized vaults still need an inspected migration path; release readiness does not make every older vault automatically compatible.

Starter Kit 1.2.0

Released 2 October 2026. Installs Community 1.0.0 with Core contract 1.0.0.

The release documents Windows and Bash installation paths, selected Codex/Claude/Gemini adapters and the local package lifecycle. Use the public release notes and archive for that exact version.

Before updating

Read the applicable installation guide, retain a full independent backup, and validate a separate test copy. Preserve installer-owned state and use the matching recovery records.
